SNK’s Samurai Shodown Reboot Is Finally Headed To Steam

While SNK’s Samurai Shodown has been available for PC, thanks to the Epic Game Store, people have been asking when is the game coming to Steam. SNK is finally ready to bringing Samurai Shodown to Steam on June 14th, 2021. Interestingly, this is nearly an entire year from when the game originally released for the Epic Game Store.

There’s currently isn’t a Steam page up at the moment, nor has there been a price mentioned. That said, I’d imagine this is going to be a full-priced game when it drops.

The game will launch with Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, the upcoming character for the third season pass DLC. Faithful fans of the series will remember this character as the final boss of the original Samurai Shodown title. He’ll join the other season three DLC characters, Hibiki Tak

One thing is for sure, this delay with releasing the game might hurt sales. Not only have there been other fighters being released, but there are also others on the horizon. It’s no secret that Samsho hasn’t been doing so well, thanks to its poor netcode. I really hope the Steam version supports crossplay with the Epic Games Store version.

Samurai Shodown is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Epic Games Store, and Steam on June 14th, 2021.
