Katy Perry Pokemon Collaboration Song “Electric” Coming This Friday

2021 has been a very interesting year for Pokemon. Because this year is the 25th anniversary for the beloved franchise and so The Pokemon Company has been doing its best to announce and release big things for it. Not the least of which was the long-awaited release of New Pokemon Snap (check out our review here!) and announcing the equally long-awaited Diamond and Pearl remasters. But, they also threw a curveball by announced the P25 Music Project where Pokemon and big-name music artists would do collaborations. Post Malone came first, and now…it’s Katy Perry’s turn.

Because she’s revealed on Twitter that her official collaboration with Pokemon is coming out via “Electric”, and the poster for the track has come out via her tweet as well and not surprisingly…it has Pikachu on it.

Though eagle-eyed fans will note that it’s actually a female Pikachu, which is perfect for Katy Perry. It’s unclear if this collaboration will have a “virtual concert” element like Post Malone did, but it will be curious to see when it releases on Friday.

And she won’t be the last singer to collaborate with Pokemon if The Pokemon Company is to be believed, so stay tuned!
