WWE to Partner with Crunchyroll for Anime Series

By Josh PiedraApril 28, 2021

It was announced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) during its 1st quarter earnings call to investors that the company is partnering with Crunchyroll to produce a multi-episode anime series.

Other than that, no further information about the work has been mentioned by WWE or Crunchyroll. WWE is no stranger in branching out to other mediums as through its many divisions, it has used WWE Superstars in films such as The Marine, The Chaperone, and many others. WWE has also done animated specials with Scooby-Doo in the past as well.

WWE also produces a lot of original content for the WWE Network which recently ceased independent operation and got moved to NBC’s Peacock online streaming service.
