Resident Evil Re:Verse Has Been Delayed To Summer 2021

Resident Evil RE Verse 1280x720

Capcom has delayed the third person over the shoulder deathmatch title, Resident Evil Re:Verse, which was originally slated to be released alongside Resident Evil 8 Village.

This morning, Capcom sent out an email to Resident Evil ambassadors. As I happen to be an ambassador, I had the email waiting for me in my inbox. This email included a few tidbits on Resident Evil Village, the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and Resident Evil Re:Verse. With a message stating that Resident Evil Re:Verse “The service is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2021!”.

The company has yet to announce this anywhere outside of the emails that were sent out.

Following the URL that was provided, you’re taken to the official Resident Evil: Reverse website where it also mentions that the game has been delayed. Now showing “Re:Verse will launch Summer 2021.”.

So there you have it, Capcom has officially delayed Resident Evil Re: Verse. Honestly, it’s for the best. I was not particularly thrilled with how the beta played out; lots of unbalancing gameplay, the area that the game was played in was too small and caused a lot of frustration. It definitely needs more development time and thankfully Capcom agrees. I really tried to enjoy the beta, but I simply couldn’t. The idea has merit, but the implementation of it needs work. Hopefully when Summer 2021 rolls around the game mode will be much better. Fingers crossed.

Which Resident Evil Village Edition Is Right For You?

It also could be due to the mercenaries mode which was recently announced for Resident Evil Village as well. That little secret was announced during the recent Resident Evil Village showcase and one that I’m happy to see a return of. In this mode, players will attempt to do battle with a number of enemies before the timer runs out. The faster you progress through the game mode, the more money you earn to upgrade your stats and weapons.

Check out IGN’s hands-on with the Resident Evil Village: Mercenaries Mode.

Resident Evil Village releases on May 7th, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia.
