‘Captain America 4’ Is Officially In Development

By Keith MitchellApril 23, 2021
Sam Wilson is Captain America

We aren’t done with the new Captain America yet!

Following the finale of ‘Captain America and The Winter Soldier, it has been revealed that a fourth ‘Captain America’ movie is in development.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Malcolm Spellman will return to handle the script, with Dalan Musson co-writing. Both had worked on Marvel’s Captain America and The Winter Soldier.

Nothing else has been confirmed, and casting hasn’t even started. However, what’s exciting here is now that Captain America and The Winter Soldier is over, the new movie will likely continue what was started in this series. Now, I won’t spoil what those are, but I’m excited thinking about it all. You really need to watch the final show to understand why.

Marvel has yet to comment on this development.

This will be the first time the MCU will see a new person wielding Captain America’s shield with the upcoming movie. With Sam Wilson (Sam Mackie) finally taking up the mantle that Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) originally wanted him to do at the ending of Avengers: Endgame. However, don’t expect Captain America 4 to be released anytime soon as the movie is just getting off the ground. I’ll call and say we won’t see the movie for another 3-4 years – I can’t wait that long.

As for if Chris Evan will make a return of sorts has yet to be seen. I’m sure everyone is aware that there are conflicting reports that say that Chris Evans is both done, yet not done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I mean, there’s also the rumor that Steve Rogers is on the moon. Sure, Steve is old man Rogers now, but if he died, we’d have a heroes funeral for him – similar to Iron Man. But the kicker is, the world has not mourned him, so he could still be alive. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Captain America and The Winter Soldier is Disney and Marvel’s latest live-action adaption, which ended on April 23rd, 2021. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam “The Falcon” Wilson, and Bucky Barnes find themselves in a new world. Along the way, the unlikely buddy duo stumbles into a new world of super-soldiers, the super-soldier serum, Zemo, and a bunch of other stuff.
