Sakurai Asks Fans To Wait “Just A Bit Longer” For Next Smash Bros Ultimate Character Reveal

Super Smash Bros Ultimate remains one of the most popular titles around both for the Nintendo Switch and in gaming in general. The big reason for this is that the DLC for the game via new characters has been coming out for a while now and each new character adds wonder to everything. The last DLC character was Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which came out in March 2021. Now the question is, when is the next one coming?

Based on past releases, we’re likely to get an announcement around Mary or June (the latter of which would line-up with the notion of E3 which Nintendo WILL be at). Super Smash Bros Ultimate head Masahiro Sakurai talked with Famitsu about how he’s been doing things with the DLC reveals and a translation of it was put out on Twitter and had some interesting things to say.

There’s a lot to unpack in those last few sentences. First off it seems that we may not have too wait too much longer for the next Smash Bros reveal. And the reveal that this isn’t “all he’s been working on” will no doubt thrill fans. Especially those who hope that his team at Project Sora might be working on a Kid Icarus title for Switch.

Either way, Masahiro Sakurai is working hard and we should appreciate all that he’s doing.
