Yesterday, NIS released a demo for the upcoming crowdfunded title, R-Type Final 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Switch. Today, the company the very same demo for the North American market. You can download it now via the Nintendo eShop or the PSN store. If you’re a PlayStation 5, you’ll find it easier by downloading it from the PlayStation network instead.
This demo is fairly short, and clocks in about 4-5 minutes of gameplay. However, I do think it does a good job of showing off the game in its current state. Some may not like what they’re about to play, as the game does take on a different look compared to previously released R-Type games. However, I enjoyed it as I’ve been starved on SHUMPs as of late and I loved R-Type in my younger years. Definitely give the demo a try and form your own opinion.
R-Type Final 2 is scheduled to be released on April 30 th, 2021, for the PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
