Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3 Won’t See A Release Date Until 2022

In June 2020, INTI CREATES announced they had started work on the 3rd title in the Azure Striker GUNVOLT series, Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3. Today the developer has announced that the title wouldn’t be released until 2022. This was announced during the 2021 New Game Plus Expo (NGPX).

Keiji Inafune, who is working with Inti Creates on the combat system, was happy to state that the game’s development is going well. So well that they’ve brought another person onto the product, who’ll also serve as an Action Director, Hiroki Miyazawa. Hiroki Miyazawa is notable for working on both the prior Azure Striker Gunvolt titles and Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.

To celebrate the news, both games are now on sale over at Steam.  Azure Striker GUNVOLT 1 is priced at $7.49, while Azure Striker GUNVOLT 2 is priced at $9.99. Both are amazing games and can be picked up for under $20. But if you had to choose one, go with the second game.

Like Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, the game will have two playable characters: Gunvolt and the newcomer to Kirin’s series. Currently, Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3 is being developed for the Nintendo Switch. However, if history repeats its self, we’ll see a port for the PC (Steam) following the release of the game for the Switch.
