Kena: Bridge of Spirits Releases In August For PS4/PS5 and PC

During the February 2021 State of Play live stream, we got a new look at the upcoming adventure title, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. This title had already been at the top of my must-play PlayStation 5 titles, but seeing it in action and seeing those cutscenes has only reinforced that. Thankfully we don’t have to wait much longer as we now have a release date; August 24, 2021.

Seriously, the cutscenes look like they could rival anything from Pixar or Dreamworks. This makes sense as the studio behind the title is Ember Lab, which started as an animation studio. While I’m a little disappointed that the entire game doesn’t look like that, what we saw of the game in action is still damned impressive. The environments look fantastic, and the gameplay, from what we saw, looks equally as good. We also were able to see a glimpse of a boss fight as well, so we know this should have a fair share of challenges. Maybe it’s me, but I’m getting an Ori vibe from watching the trailer.

Lastly, while we didn’t see or hear about it during the live stream, Kena: Bridge of Spirits will have several different game versions. A standard digital is priced at $39.99, and a digital deluxe edition is priced at $49.99. The digital deluxe version will include a digital soundtrack, in-game silver staff, and golden rot skins. Also, when you purchase the game, it will include versions for both the PS4 and PS5.

Should you not have access to either a PS4 or PS5, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is also releasing for the PC via the Epic Game Store on the same day as the PS4/PS5 versions.

Are you looking forward to playing this game when it releases? Let us know in the comments!
