Surprise State of Play Taking Place on February 25th

State of Play Feb 2021

I bet you didn’t see that coming!

Today was already a busy day for gaming news, as PlayStation was dishing out info on its upcoming PS5 VR headset, Gran Turismo 7 delays, and Days Gone heading to PC. Yet the gaming juggernaut wasn’t finished and recently announced a surprise State of Play. This event will occur on February 25th, 2021, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET, on Twitch and YouTube.

Clocking in at 30 minutes, PlayStation promises to provide “updates and deep dives” for several upcoming PS4 and PS5 titles. New game announcements and updates on several 3rd parties games are also on the agenda. Geez PlayStation, that’s one way to liven up the week, that’s for sure.

State of Play returns this Thursday! Tune in live at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET to see updates and deep dives for games coming to PS4 and PS5.

With Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart already having a release date and GT 7 already delayed, what else could PlayStation be ready to talk about? Plenty, actually.

There’s still Resident Evil 8 Village that releases in May 2021, and I believe PlayStation has the advertising rights for that. Seeing how they’re stating we’ll find out about both PS4 and PS5 games, I’m sure they’ll be eager to show off more Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – they’d be silly not to. Also, expect to hear more about the Days Gone PC port since Spring 2021 is around the corner. Horizon 2: Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 16, God of War 2, Returnal, and yes, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. The list is pretty much endless, and we can expect any or all of these titles to be discussed during the State of Play event.

This Thursday is going to be a busy day for PlayStation owners and gamers alike. I’ll be sure to bring the popcorn! What do you think PlayStation will reveal during the State of Play? Sound off in the comments!
