Four More NES and SNES Games Are Heading To Nintendo Switch Online

By Keith MitchellFebruary 9, 2021
Nintendo's online service for the Nintendo Switch 2

Lackluster

Ever since Nintendo put a stop to a regular release schedule for both NES and SNES games headed to Nintendo Switch Online, the line up has been hit or miss. Which is exactly what today’s announcement of games headed to Nintendo Switch Online is, completely off target.

Four games, three SNES games, and one NES game have been announced, and I have to say that I’ve never heard of these games.

Doomsday Warrior, a fighting game that no one I know has even heard of. Psycho Dream, a side-scrolling action game that didn’t get released in the West. Prehistorik Man, a prehistoric platformer that apparently was positively received in the West. And Fire ‘n Ice, no, not the animated movie, but a puzzle game where players put out fires using ice.

Al four games will head to Nintendo Switch Online this February 17th, 2021. This has got to be perhaps the most disappointing release for Nintendo Switch Online to date, and I can’t see anyone remotely happy for these titles. At this point, it feels like Nintendo is doing this deliberately.

I wonder how long until Nintendo gets back around to re-releasing the good stuff. Super Mario RPG, Contra/Super Contra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, any of the Mega Man or Castlevania games.

C’mon Nintendo, what are you doing?
