The Lord of the Rings: Gollum pushed back to 2022

By Poch SaldanaJanuary 26, 2021

Along with bringing along a new co-publisher in NACON, notable for publishing the Tennis World Tour and Rugby franchises, the peculiar The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has received a significant delay into 2022.

We are forming a fellowship with @Daedalic to publish The Lord of the Rings™: Gollum™.

The game will be released in 2022 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.

While originally announced in March of 2019 and set to release later this year, little known about the new project with only a teaser trailer and a few screenshots being shown to the public. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is being developed by Daedalic Entertainment, a studio mostly known for their expertise in point-and-click, traditional adventure games, who will be stepping a bit out of their comfort zone as the Steam page for the new Middle-earth title describes it as a “story-driven action adventure” with a seemingly large focus on stealth.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. The title will utilize exclusive next-gen features such as ray-tracing and custom DualSense settings for the PS5.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
