By Keith MitchellJanuary 25, 2021
Guilty Gear Strive

While we were all sleeping, Arc System Works released a new video for its upcoming fighter, Guilty Gear Strive.  This specific video breaks down all the various modes available in the game at launch.

Here’s a summary if you don’t want to watch the video or just want the quick rundown.

  • Tutorial Mode – Practice and learn up before you head into the action.
  • Arcade Mode – Fighting against AI-controlled opponents.
  • Survival Mode – Fight against AI opponents until you can’t any longer. This is tracked via an online ranking system.
  • Mission Mode – Similar to the tutorial mode, but you’ll have to complete missions to prove you know what you learned.
  • Training Mode –  Configure the AI opponents in various situations to recreate actual fights. Use this to hone your fighting skills.
  • Online Mode – Fight it against other players online, cross-play support will allow PlayStation 4 and 5 players to fight against each other.
  • Online Lobby – Watch online matches, interact with other players, customize your avatar with over 300 items and colors. When matching up with others, the system will utilize a skill-based matching system.
  •  Player Match – Custom and private matches
  • Replay Theather – Here, you can search out other player matches and watch their matches.
  • Story Mode – Watch the entire Guilty Gear Strive story without ever playing a match.
  • GG World Mode – An online collection of Guilty Gear Strive data.
  • Galley Mode – A collection of art, music, movies, and more trivia from Guilty Gear Strive and prior games.

Guilty Gear Strive releases on April 9th, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, and PC (Steam). Before that, Arc System Works will be hosting a closed online beta for the game, and we’ll be covering that as soon as the beta starts.
