CAPCOM reported today that 16,406 additional people had their personal information compromised during a recent unauthorized network attack. The ransomware attack occurred back on November 2, 2020 where, two weeks later, CAPCOM stated that only nine people’s information had been compromised.
Information that had been compromised include people’s name, address, phone number, email, and HR information. Of the 16,415 total people, 3,248 were identified as business partners, 9,164 are former employees and related parties, and 3,994 are currently employed by CAPCOM.
CAPCOM has also determined that the maximum number of people that may have had their personal information compromised is around 390,000.
CAPCOM did not state whether or not that information included any type of game and/or website accounts for users. To be on the safe side, it is highly recommended that you change your login information.
