Play ‘Watch Dogs Legion’ With Friends Starting Next Month

If you’ve picked up Watch Dogs Legion, you’ve likely enjoyed scouring London for new recruits to add to your hacker posse. But what if those new recruits were your friends? On December 3rd, the Ubisoft game will see the addition of online multiplayer. Featuring co-op and competitive play, online players will be able to team up or go toe to toe (or spider bot to spider bot) in various challenges.

So how can you hack your way across London with your friends? GamesRadar detailed the various multiplayer modes for the game. The first mode will be standard co-op, with players teaming up to take on missions across London. However, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, the multiplayer won’t take place in the standard world game, but rather one specifically designed for multiplayer with separate missions. However, like the main single-player mode, players will be able to recruit people for their two to four person team. It remains to be seen if this will work exactly like the main game or in a different fashion.

As for competitive play, Watch Dogs Legion will feature Robot Wars, with four to eight players battling it out. The first announced mode will see players battling their spider bots, bug-like drones from the main game.

The December update will also add new single player content and patches to the game, but multiplayer will arrive as the biggest change. In our review, we noted that the game will improve with patches due to some current performance issues, but otherwise praised it for its side quests, vast open-world, and sheer number of playable characters. Watch Dogs Legion arrived for the PlayStation 4 on October 29th, and will debut on the PlayStation 5 alongside the console’s release on November 12th.
