A hotfix is being released for Ubisoft’s latest Watch Dog title, Watch Dogs: Legion. One that’s sorely needed, especially for the PC version.

This new hotfix corrects several issues and bugs found in retail versions of the game and noticed by several reviews of the game. As we’re reviewing the game and had access to the game for a few days now, we’ve also noticed several concerns addressed by this hotfix, which is another reason why our review hasn’t been posted yet.

This announcement comes directly from the Ubisoft forums and was made by the Ubisoft Watch Dogs: Legions team.

The hotfix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is being released today, while the PC hotfix should be available on Oct 30th, 2020.

Several performance issues are being addressed across all platforms, and a particularly nasty game-breaking bug is being patched for the Xbox One version.

Here’s a list of what this hotfix addresses:

  • Global performance improvements on PS4 for smoother gameplay/driving
  • Made several improvements to PC performance
  • Optimized performance to improve framerates for RTX GPUs
  • Fixed an issue that caused framerate drops to occur when characters walk through checkpoints
  • Improved the framerate performance when driving
  • Fixed a freeze when switching input controllers on PC
  • Fixed sporadic crashes on PS4
  • Fixed sporadic crashes on Xbox One/S
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when launched on a console set to TURKISH, INDONESIAN, GREEK, ROMANIAN, HUNGARIAN, VIETNAMESE, or THAI languages
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash on Xbox One X when selecting a certain option in the Into the Void mission
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when browsing through the Premium Shop tabs on Xbox One

Watch Dogs Legion is currently available for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will be released alongside the release of both consoles.
