Fall Guys Season 2 Has Arrived in Medieval Style

By Andrew AgressOctober 8, 2020

Whether you’ve stuck with Fall Guys since the game’s smash hit debut on August 4th or have taken a break, now is a great time to jump back in (and fall right over) as a new season of the game has arrived. Today, players who own the game can download Season 2 for free, which features a new medieval setting for the jelly bean battle royale game. The new season features new costumes, new rounds, and new map designs.

Check out the new trailer, which promises four new levels with more on the way. It also showcases the new emphasis on cooperation this season, and last but not least has a killer medieval version of the game’s main theme music:

So what are some of the changes? In terms of new map designs, the level of Hoopsie Daisy has gotten reworked. The new layout encourages players to make temporary alliances with each other, pushing platforms in order to try to reach the hoops to jump through.

Three of the completely new rounds include Egg Siege, Wall Guys, and Knight Fever. Egg Siege is a new take on Egg Scramble, where players have to hoard eggs for their given team. In this version, you’ll not only have to snag eggs but also navigate a castle full of moving obstacles. Wall Guys involves players having to move platforms in order to cross over tall walls. Expect to see players take advantage of others’ hard work, a classic cheeky Fall Guys move. Lastly, Knight Fever promises an exciting new take on obstacle courses rounds like Slime Climb and Fall Mountain, with players having to cross medieval themed hurdles like draw bridges and giant spiked rollers.

In an interview with PlayStation Blog, game service engineer Fábio Martins offers some tactical advice for this level:

“My biggest piece of advice for this Round is for players to try and remain calm when tackling the roller. Try to walk on at a diagonal angle, moving contrary to its movement as it spins. You’ll still have to be mindful of those huge spikes, but getting your movement on-point is the most important part of avoiding the slime!”

And finally, let’s get to those costumes. With the Fall season comes new Fall (Guys) outfits, all based around the medieval setting. The new outfits include dragon, witch, wizard, viking, and knight costumes. Personally I think these are some of the best costumes the game has seen yet. I have a few crowns saved up, but I definitely plan on using up as many as need be to get the blue wizard outfit with the glasses:

If you’ve yet to experience Fall Guys, now could not be a better time to dive in. In our review, we praised its addicting gameplay and robust mini games. The game has become a surprise sensation, selling over 7 million copies on Steam alone. Since its release it has also become the most dowloaded game on PlayStation, a staggering feat since it only came out two months ago. I had taken a break from it myself, but this new medieval setting will definitely see me jumping back in, even just for the new costumes alone.
