Kena: Bridge of Spirits pushed back to early 2021

By Poch SaldanaSeptember 13, 2020

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the gorgeous debut by Ember Lab, which was originally set to be released late 2020 has officially been delayed to Q1 2021. You can find the studio’s statement below.

It has been the year of delays but for completely justifiable reasons. COVID-19 is leaving the world in a state of distraught affecting nearly every facet of life which includes game development. Ember Lab, of course, isn’t the only studio that has slowed due to COVID-19 with 1 in 3 developers stating they had a game delayed due to the worldwide pandemic. Regardless, the quality of the product and the well-being of the developers should both be at utmost priority instead of trying to reach harsh deadlines.

This is actually the first video game effort by the Californian studio. Ember Lab’s work consists of some stunning CGI work for the likes of FIFA, the MLB, and even The Coca-Cola Company but their most notable film is perhaps Terrible Fate—a tribute to Majora’s Mask that has garnered nearly 10 million views on YouTube.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be out on PS4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
