Originally, Capcom has promised to provide more information on the upcoming Resident Evil title, Resident Evil Village, before the end of August 2020. Many speculated that this meant we’d find out more during Gamescom 2020 since it took place at the end of August. Yet, it never happened and there’s more than a few frustrated RE fans wondering what happened.
Well, Capcom realized they let the Resident Evil community down and has now promised to show off something during the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online and Capcom’s own hosted Tokyo Game Show 2020 Live Event.

And while Capcom didn’t mention why this date slipped, we can assume it has everything to do with the current pandemic that the world is facing.
I know this news will make fans who are looking forward to some new Resident Evil Village fans happy, including a specific person that’s on our staff.
Capcom’s TGS 2020 hosted event will take place from Saturday, September 26th to Sunday, September 27th!
Resident Evil Village will retain the first-person perspective that was introduced in Resident Evil 7 and will feature the protagonist of that game, Ethan, and the return of a certain “Hero” from the series, Chris Redfield – in what capacity, we still don’t know. Capcom has teased that someone’s story will come to an end in RE Village, with many assuming they’re referring to Ethan’s story.
Resident Evil Village is slated to be released in 2021 and will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC (Steam). The title will not be developed for the current generation PlayStation 4 or Xbox One due to Capcom wanting to focus their efforts on the next-generation of platforms.
