Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Coming To Nintendo Switch?

By Todd BlackAugust 16, 2020
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

The Nintendo Switch has been dominating console and software sales since it released back in March 2017, and the game that started it all off was Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Since then a menagerie of strong 1st party titles, 3rd party titles, and a TON of ports have made the system a very beloved one. But what is surprising fans is that the ports are coming in more frequency than desired. Including potential upcoming Mario ports, and now the confirmed Pikmin 3 Deluxe. As if that wasn’t enough, Amazon UK is stating that the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword might be coming to Switch as well.

For those who don’t remember, Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword came out on the Wii and delivered an origin story to the Zelda universe. One that made many fans and critics happy, as well as using the Wii motion controls to brilliant effect.

This wouldn’t be the first Zelda game to be ported to Switch as Link’s Awakening was brought over from its original state on the Game Boy with a massive visual overhaul. Which might happen with Skyward Sword if the rumors are true.

The problem though is that Skyward Sword was literally built for motion controls. Yes, the Switch has those with the Joy-Cons, but not in the same way. So it would be interesting to see how gameplay would work.

Until Nintendo confirms this though, treat it as nothing more than a rumor.
