August’s State of Play Livestream to focus on PlayStation 4 and PS VR, no major PlayStation 5 announcements.

While it was speculated that PlayStation would hold another State of Play event this month, now it’s official. On August 6th, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, PlayStation will hold its State of Play Livestream.

However, if you’re tuning in to catch the latest PlayStation 5 news, you may be disappointed as PlayStation has clearly stated as the focus of this event is on third party/indie games, as well as upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR titles.

That said, they didn’t say there wouldn’t be any PlayStation 5 announcements, just not big ones. Meaning we won’t get that elusive pricing info that all of us have been waiting for.

State of Play returns Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific!

What to expect:
▪️ A focus on upcoming PS4 & PS VR games
▪️ A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June’s PS5 showcase
▪️ No big PS5 announcements!

This leaves us with yet another PlayStation event where the pricing for the upcoming PlayStation 5 has yet to be announced.

Now, I like suspense as much as the next person, but in my honest opinion, this is going on way too far. I don’t recall PlayStation doing this for the PS4 or PS3. It was straight to the point, here’s our price, now go save your pennies. I don’t know if PlayStation is playing this game because they have the market share and they feel no need to drop the price bomb, or if they just like stringing us all along.

The PlayStation 5 is slated to be released this 2020 Shopping Holiday, meaning we should see it sometime between November and December 2020.
