When Xbox mentioned that their upcoming July 23rd Livestream was dedicated to showing off the first party Xbox titles, they weren’t kidding. In a very recent tweet by Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg, it was confirmed that there won’t be any hardware reveals or announcements during the event.

This means no more looks at the Xbox Series X, or the on/off again Xbox Lockhart, now known as Xbox Series S. This upcoming stream will be games, games, and more games. Which is what it should be about, and hopefully better than the last Xbox Livestream. We all remember that one, don’t we?
Update: While we were writing this up, it was confirmed that the Xbox July 23rd Livestream WILL have an extended look at Halo Infinite.
The day you’ve been waiting for is nearly here: On Thursday, July 23 at 9 a.m. PT, we’ll be giving you a closer look at the future of gaming with the Xbox Games Showcase, including world premieres and updated looks at some of the games we’ve already revealed. And yes, that includes your first-ever look at campaign gameplay from Halo Infinite.
According to Aaron, the event will clock in about an hour in length, which some are already saying the length is too much. However, that tells me that the company is more than likely going to give us an extended look at not just Halo Infinite, but also other first-party Xbox titles.
In addition, we may also hear about some upcoming gaming studios that Microsoft may have acquired. There’s already been word that AT&T is looking to sell WB Interactive, and Microsoft has been eyeing the company for its gaming portfolio. Can you imagine if Xbox purchased the company? It would send the gaming community into a frenzy. This upcoming Livestream is going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
Xbox’s Livestream takes place on July 23rd, 2020, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET, and will be streamed on YouTube (1080p/60fps), Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter. And yes, it still feels weird not putting Mixer as an available platform.
