Dragon’s Dogma Anime on Netflix Gets Release Date

By Henry BuehlerJuly 15, 2020

Netflix has been making major waves with their animated content over the last few years. Following their first major animated video game adaptation of Castlevania, Netflix announced an adaptation of Dragon’s Dogma in March of 2019.

Dragon’s Dogma was an interesting pick. It’s a cult classic action/RPG from Capcom that features unique mechanics like being able to climb on larger monsters as well as the Pawn System-Fully customizable party members called Pawns which can be recruited by other players via online functionality.

The series has a brief synopsis on it’s official Netflix page,

“Ethan sets out to vanquish the Dragon that took his heart, but with every demon he battles, the more he loses his humanity.”

Dragon’s Dogma releases exclusively on Netflix on September 17th, 2020.

The only sad part about this is we’re getting an anime and not an actual follow-up to this amazing action RPG. C’mon Capcom, we’ve been asking for a sequel for a while now. Or a least a remake, similar to what you’ve done to the Resident Evil games.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch
