Halo 3 PC heads to The Master Chief Collection on July 14

By Keith MitchellJuly 7, 2020
Nintendo Switch 2, Halo

Almost time to finish the PC, but on PC!

While Halo 3 was available to play on PC as part of the Halo The Master Chief Collection lighting, it was removed not too long ago, much to the dismay of many. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait much longer to play the full campaign Halo 3 PC will be available on of July 14th, 2020.

When released, it will be available to play on both the Windows 10 and Steam versions of The Master Chief Collection, currently priced at $31.99. If you just want the single game (but why?) you’ll be able to purchase it separately as well. Or you can just subscribe to Xbox Game Pass for PC and enjoy it, along with other titles for just $4.99 monthly.

Halo 3 being re-released on PC has been a long time coming and thankfully, the wait has been worth it. I’ve had the pleasure of playing the game during the Halo 3 lighting and it was fantastic. It was the Halo 3 I remember, plus I was finally able to play it at a higher resolution, along with a stable framerate and most importantly, with a keyboard and mouse. With the latter being my favorite and one I’ve been waiting to use to play this game and the others in the series for some time now.

With the release of Halo 3 on PC, this brings the number of titles as part of The Master Chief Collection to four, with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo: Reach already being available. However, the collection is far from complete as Halo 4 and Halo 4: ODST (one of my favorites) are still moving from the collection.

Rest assured, the remaining two are scheduled to be released for the PC as well. For now, be sure to check out Halo 3 PC when it’s released on July 14th, 2020.

Lastly, don’t forget that Halo – The Master Chief Collection does support cross-play for the Windows 10/Xbox and Steam versions. It won’t matter what version you get, as you’ll still be able to play with anyone who has a copy of the game.

Are you excited about the release as we are? Let us know in the comments!
