Ubisoft Teases New Assassin’s Creed on Twitter

By Conner BApril 29, 2020

Everything is coming up Norse

While the knowledge that there is another Assassin’s Creed game on the way isn’t exactly a surprise by any means fans have yet to be told the setting of the latest title, until today that is. Ubisoft teamed up with digital artist BossLogic on twitter to tease the location of the latest Assassin’s Creed game in a stream that, at the time of writing, is currently ongoing. Starting at 12 AM GMT today, the stream features BossLogic as he draws the newest setting on Photoshop gradually showing more and more of the setting which currently looks like this:

The location and setting looks to be set within the middle ages which lines up with previous leaks regarding the latest game being set during the Norse era, this is further backed up by the display of Longboats, icy terrain, and what appears to be an English castle. What this image also seems to imply is that players may be visiting both England and Scandinavia, this could be wishful thinking on my part but a man can dream.

While it’s still speculation, the inclusion of English castles means that the setting will be between 793 AD and 1066 AD which are famous examples of when Vikings invaded England. Ubisoft quite often likes to set their games during historical times of conflict so setting the timeframe around the Battle of Hastings in 1066 AD seems like a very likely timeframe.

If you’re interested in checking out the stream to see what the final product may be, make sure to check it out below:

I for one am a sucker for a good old Norse tale so I’m on board so far. What about the rest of you? Are you excited for a new Assassin’s Creed game, or are you bored to death with the series?

The resident Brit of Outerhaven, however, don't expect refinement from me as I swear like a sailor and I will die on the hill I chose to fight on.
