Death Stranding PC delayed to July 2020 due to COVID-19

By Keith MitchellApril 21, 2020
Death Stranding PC Release Date

While Kojima Productions port of Death Stranding was originally scheduled to be released for the PC on June 2nd, 2020, thanks to COVID-19, the title has now been delayed. The new release date is July 14, 20202, with the delay allowing the team to make up for the development that was lost due to COVID-19 wrecking havoc in just about everything.

Kojima Productions has announced this delay in a recent tweet.

Following the temporary closure of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, we have had to delay the PC launch of DEATH STRANDING to July 14, 2020, to allow more development time amidst the current work-from-home orders in place. Thank you all for your patience and continued support!#keeponkeepingon pic.twitter.com/euOmebcdQj

Now, you know my stance when it comes to games being delayed, that being delay whenever needed. Definitely not a fan of developers being forced to release games in an unfinished state, so I’m fine with this delay. Especially if this version is looking to be the definitive version of Death Stranding.

While the PC release is identical to the PlayStation 4 version that was released in 2019, it also comes with a few upgrades which include Ultra-Widescreen support, a new Photo Mode, higher frame support/resolution support. The title will also be available for PC on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Steam version will also gain access to several Half-Life related items, including a head crab headpiece

Death Stranding PC Release Date

Sure, the delay stinks, but our health more important than any game, or anything else to be honest. Stay safe out there, gamer, developer and PR person alike.
