Capcom’s Monster Hunter World Iceborne 2020 Roadmap released, PC version to Sync up with consoles sooner than expected

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

With Monster Hunter World Iceborne releasing late onto the PC, four months after the PS4 and Xbox One release, I feared that the PC would not catch up with consoles anytime soon. A fate that we saw with the base game. Thankfully, Capcom just rolled out their road map for 2020 and a huge shock for me was that they aren’t wasting any time syncing up the three platforms.

The Monster Hunter World Iceborne 2020 roadmap, shows the PC will sync up the consoles as of April 2020.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne 2020 Roadmap

Rajang will be available in Feb. 2020, with Stygian Zinogre and Safi’jiiva (adult form of Xeno’jiiva) being released in March 2020. The latter is being released 2 months after Iceborne was released for PC, while the console didn’t see this pain in the neck until December 2019.

After that, April 2020 rolls around and this is where the platforms will sync up. This is where new Arch-Tempered and Master Rank of currently available monsters will be available. Shortly after this, May will bring a return of a fan-favorite monster. I haven’t the slightest who this could be. Especially since there are so many monsters that were released over the years and each one of those are fan favorites. Guess we’ll just have to wait until Capcom whoever it may be.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect Capcom to get the PC version caught up so fast. One would think that perhaps the company wants to get some cross-play action going in the future.  I’d love to see that, however, Capcom had ruled this out in the past when speaking with PC Gamer. Though that was back in 2018, and prior to the cross-play explosion that even Sony finally wised up and got involved with. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

As for the PC version, I’ve been slowly making my way through the expansion. Most of you know that I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time with the original game. Now that the expansion is out, I’ve been enjoying the heck out of the game, thanks to the luscious world, and those oh so sexy PC enhancements. This game looks so damned pretty at 4K 60 FPS and maxed out. And here I was, thinking I was done with the game; Capcom pulled be right back in.
