Capcom is aware of the issues plaguing the PC version of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

After waiting four months for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to be released onto the PC, it would seem not everyone is enjoying the game thank to a few issues. Right out the gate, there have been reports of numerous problems, including poor performance (both GPU and CPU), while others are reporting that the base game saves are being deleted.

Thankfully, Capcom has stated they are aware of the issues and are working on it. This is very similar to the original release of Monster Hunter World for the PC back in 2019.

[PC/Steam] We are aware of performance issues that have been reported, and are currently investigating them.

If you have been experiencing any issues with the PC version, please contact Capcom Support and be ready to share more info on your system: https://t.co/qf4EFm6HJK

I can attest to the performance issues. Once the new update was released, both PCs have seen higher than normal activity, sometimes rocketing to 100% for a few seconds. I haven’t experienced the game save issue, but I have spoken to several others who were affected. That said, if you’re also encountering issues, please submit your issues to Capcom. The more info that’s collected, the better they can tackle this issue.

Sadly, the performance issues have resulted in multiple frustrated owners taking to Steam to post negative reviews of the game. Yep, despite Valve’s best efforts, review bombing is still alive and well.

Despite the game’s performance issues, this hasn’t stopped it from becoming a hit on Steam. Since its release, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has jumped to being the 4th played game on Steam. Not too shabby, despite the problems the game is having.

As for the issues, I’m sure Capcom will get this sorted out; hopefully, sooner than later. As I alluded to previously, this is reminiscent of the original game release. Once the problems are sorted, the game should run better than what is now.
