Minecraft Earth, Mojang’s blocky answer to popular augmented reality mobile games like Pokemon Go and Harry Potter Wizards Unite, has been slowly rolling out across the globe over the past few weeks, but now those of us here in the states can finally start both mining and crafting on iOS and Android devices.

Minecraft Earth is similar to other AR mobiles games, but there are a few twists that really sell the Minecraft theme. The overworld map is of course composed of blocks, and you can tap on certain points to harvest materials. The big draw of Minecraft Earth, however, is the AR building, which allows you to place Minecraft blocks in the real world using your phone’s camera. Other aspects of the game include missions called adventures and cooperative building with friends. The game is still pretty light on content, but more things will be added as time goes on.
At the time of writing, there are currently ten countries where Minecraft Earth is live:

- Philippines
- South Korea
- Sweden
- United Kingdom
- United States
The game is expected to be available worldwide by the end of the year.
