Purchase Switch and 3DS games on Fanatical at a discount

By Keith MitchellNovember 11, 2019
Pokemon Sword and Shield

Let’s be honest, we all want to save a few dollars when it comes to our gaming. And when it comes to digital Nintendo Switch games, those discounts are few and far in-between. However, there’s some good news that front as Fanatical has announced that they’ll be selling both Switch and 3DS games on the 15th of November.

“Providing officially licensed games and not dealing within the grey key market is paramount to our brand, rewarding the hard-working publishers, developers, and partners that we work with, as well as providing our customers with top quality products. This partnership shows our intent to be one of the leading digital entertainment retailers, and we look forward to working closely with Nintendo – and potentially even more partners in the near future.”

So what does this mean to you and me? Cheaper games, that’s what. For example, you’ll be able to purchase Pokemon Sword and Shield for 10% off. Sure only drops $6 off the game, but that’s some extra cash in your pocket. Since this will also apply to other games, you’ll be able to pick up some other games on the cheap as well.

But who exactly is Fanatical? While I’m sure some of our readers are already familiar with the brand, I’ll break it down. In a nutshell, the company is one of the largest online stores that provide discounts for many games, including multiple AAA games. They’re constantly hosting some sort of promo with some ridiculous discounts, or bundles. They’re one of my goto’s when I’m hunting for a game on the cheap. You should check them out.

As for Pokemon Sword and Shield, it releases this Friday, November 15th, 2019, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
