The Outer Worlds does support 4K on The PS4 Pro

The Outer Worlds

Previously, thanks to crossed signals, there was a mix up regarding Obisdisan Entertainments’ upcoming title, The Outer Worlds.

A mistake that stated that the PS4 Pro would be confined to a 1080p resolution on the PS4 Pro, with no 4K enhancements. While the Xbox One X would be the only console would receive the 4K enhancement treatment. Naturally, PS4 owners weren’t too thrilled about this news and started pointing fingers at Microsoft and Xbox.

Thankfully, that all turned out to be false, as confirmed by Obsidian, the developer of The Outer Worlds. According to a recent tweet, both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One will have 4K support. The Xbox One (and PC) will enjoy native a 4K resolution, while the PS4 Pro will upscale from 1440p.

The @OuterWorlds is enhanced for both Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. It includes 4K textures and resolution on Xbox One X and PC, and upsamples to 4K from 1440p on PS4 Pro. It looks great across all platforms and we’re excited for players to experience The Outer Worlds on October 25th.

So there you have it, crisis averted and everyone who has access to a 4K TV or monitor can enjoy the 4K goodness on their system of choice.

The Outer Worlds releases on October 25 on for the PS4, Xbox One and PC (Epic Games Store) with a Switch version announced but with no confirmed release date. As for the game, I’m very much looking forward to jumping into this new world that Obsidian has created and being able to do whatever I want.

This is going to be fun.
