Rie Kugimiya Comes To Anime NYC 2019!

By William "Shadowz" KokSeptember 30, 2019

Making her first time appearance in the US, the Queen of Tsundere, Rie Kugimiya, will be coming to Anime NYC 2019!

You though the Anisong Matsuri with JAM Project was big? This is a bombshell.

The Anime NYC website details her as follows:

Rie Kugimiya is one of the most well-known female voice actors from Japan. Affectionately nicknamed the “Queen of Tsundere” by all her fans worldwide, she has voiced many of the most popular and memorable characters from various hit anime titles such as Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist), Kagura (Gintama), Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!), Happy (Fairy Tail), and many more.

In addition to providing her voice for animations, she is also known for her roles in the gaming world such as Oda Nobunaga (Fate/Grand Order), Iori Minase (THE iDOLM@STER), Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4), Vyrn (Granblue Fantasy), and others. She has won awards such as Best Actress and Best Supporting Role in the prestigious Seiyuu Awards.

Anime NYC will be Rie Kugimiya’s first appearance at an anime convention in the US!

There will also be a ticketed signing on Sunday which tickets will go on sale on October 6 Sunday 6PM EST. That is during the last day of New York Comicon. Details are as follows:

Rie Kugimiya will make a one-day appearance at Anime NYC on Sunday, November 17, during which she will participate in a main stage panel discussion and autograph signing with fans.

Ms. Kugimiya’s panel will be free and open to all Anime NYC attendees with Weekend or Sunday passes.

Ms. Kugimiya’s autograph signing will be a paid signing with signing tickets very limited in number. Her signing tickets will go on sale at 6 PM Eastern Time on October 6. Each signing ticket will be $125, and there is a STRICT limit of one per person. Duplicate orders will be deleted.

When claiming your signing ticket onsite, your name MUST match your Photo ID. If your name does not match, you will be unable to claim your autograph ticket. The only exceptions made will be for those under 18 or those with accessibility bracelets.

Ms. Kugimiya will sign one shikishi (Japanese signing board) per person, and the shikishi will be included with each signing ticket. Ms. Kugimiya will not sign merchandise or personal items.

Each signing ticket also includes reserved seating during Ms. Kugimiya’s panel discussion. Her signing tickets will be available at showclix.com/event/animenyc2019. An Anime NYC Weekend or Sunday pass is required to participate in her signing.

So if you are planning to get one of these tickets, I suggest you be at the ready at your computer. Because the Anisong Tickets literally sold out in under a minute when it went live. If you are like me and attending New York Comicon on Sunday, suggest you leave early so that you are ready at the call.

Anime NYC 2019 is shaping up to be an Otaku’s fantasy this year.
