Overwatch Coming To Switch? Tracer Coming To Smash Bros?

By Todd BlackAugust 26, 2019
Overwatch Tracer

So, since the arrival of the Switch, and the resurgence of MANY prominent 3rd party companies bringing their titles (or creating new titles) to the Switch, many gamers have wondered what could be announced next. A surprise was done last year when Blizzard brought Diablo III the Eternal Collection to Switch, pleasing many in the process. Though, before and after that, a question was posed by gamers to Blizzard several times over: Overwatch on Switch?

Blizzard has denied such a thing many times, mainly because they said it would be “too much work” to have four separate builds of the game (PC, Xbox, PS4) to try and maintain. Which made sense. And then, today, Twitter went alight when a listing from Amazon was posted for an “officially licensed” case for the Nintendo Switch with the Overwatch logo. The listing has been taken down, but the case itself looks legit.

If this is the case, Overwatch on Switch would be yet another major 3rd party title on the system. But wait, there’s more, despite not having ANY confirmation of this, many fans are wondering if a character from the game will be put into Smash Bros Ultimate as a part of the “event” that the game will technically be bringing. Many people think that the games’ mascot, Tracer, will be in the title. Though again, this has not been confirmed nor hinted at.

There have been rumors recently of a new Nintendo Direct coming, and if that is the case, this would be a perfect place to announce Overwatch on Switch and potentially Tracer in Smash Bros. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
