Get ready for another Stadia Connect This August 19th

By Keith MitchellAugust 6, 2019
Google Stadia Pro

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything regarding the Google Stadia. Well, that’s about to change as Google has announced another Stadia Connect. This one will take place on August 19th, 2019.

If you haven’t noticed, the date one day ahead of the start of Gamescom 2019. Which runs from August 20th – 24th, 2019.

What can we expect from this event? Well, for starters I’m hoping that we heard something regarding what games will be available at the launch of Stadia Pro. Sure, we know about a number of them which include Destiny 2 and DOOM Eternal. However, those are games we can play on other platforms. What I want to know about are the exclusive games. The games that are going to what me to own Stadia. Google does have it’s own dedicated gaming studio and we haven’t a peep from them. Don’t you think it’s about time we do?

Speaking of which, Google’s Phil Harrison was on a tangent not too long ago regarding ISP data caps and bandwidth. Since then, he’s been quiet and it has me wondering if Google didn’t try and set up plans with major ISPs to provide some sort of “Stadia Gaming” plan. It’s not that far-fetched when thinking about it. With the death of Net Neutrality (open internet), fast lanes have been considered, so I wouldn’t rule this out.

Lastly, I want to see Stadia played on stream. No more talk about how great it is. Show us! Let us see it running for ourselves. Or better yet, get some people on stage to talk about the experience they’be had with Stadia. Someone has been playing this for a while and we need to hear from them!

Either way, this live stream will be key for Google. They need to dazzle people, more so now than ever. With the PlayStation 5 and next Xbox already announced, while Microsoft’s Project xCloud has been gaining momentum. Google needs a compelling argument on why we want Stadia.

They better bring their A-game this time and not a repeat of the previous Stadia Connect.
