Netflix’s ‘Aggretsuko’ Gets Renewed for Season 3

By Sara Roncero-MenendezAugust 5, 2019

Crank up the volume and get ready to rock, because everyone’s favorite red panda is coming back for more. Netflix has officially confirmed that hit anime series Aggretsuko will be coming back for a third season.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, it follows Retsuko, a 25-year-old who works as an accountant in a typical Japanese company, and follows her life as she navigates work, love, and growing up. What makes this show so special, you ask? Well, when she gets angry, she turns into a metal version of herself and screams metal lyrics into a microphone about what’s pissing her off. It’s no surprise that people love her so much.

At the Taipei Comic Exhibition, the show’s creator Rareko announced that there would indeed be a season 3 soon:

It was also confirmed on the show’s official Instagram page, along with a new poster:

According to Anime News Network, Rareko said that he thought that he had used up all his ideas in the first two seasons, but nonetheless was excited to move forward with the project. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean that the show will go down in quality, especially given how its connected with people. There definitely are a lot of interesting directions the show could go in, especially given that we still have a love interest for Retsuko waiting patiently in the wings.

No news yet at to when we can expect Aggretsuko Season 3 to premiere on Netflix.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
