The Outer Worlds is Coming to Switch

The Outer Worlds

Obsidian’s upcoming sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game will come after the game’s initial release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, although no release window was given.  The port will be handled by Virtuos, a team that has already brought several noteworthy titles to the platform, including L.A. Noire, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and Dark Souls Remastered.

Matthew Singh, the senior producer of The Outer Worlds, shared a few details about Obisidian’s vision for their open-ended RPG. He speaks about some of the game’s unique features like the “flaw system,” which monitors what happens to your character and gives them attributes depending on what happens. Taking too many hits to the head during combat, for example, may result in a concussion, which will change the experience in some ways but also open up new gameplay avenues and possibilities. You can check out the full video in the tweet above.

The Outer Worlds launches on October 25, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will be released sometime after that.
