Nujabes was an influential Japanese artist and producer who drew wide acclaim through his work on Samurai Champloo and production work with MINMI.

MINMI has been a musical trailblazer throughout her 20-year career. Emerging from Japan’s prolific reggae scene in the late 90s, she has drawn international acclaim for her smooth bi-lingual vocals, evocative lyrics and dynamic live performances. Her 2002 debut single, “The Perfect Vision,” sold more than 400,000 copies. Over the course of her ensuing albums, MINMI incorporated a wide range of R&B and hip hop influences and continued to refine her signature sound.

In 2015, MINMI released her seventeenth single “Hologram,” which was also featured as theme song to anime series Jitsu wa Watashi wa, known in the U.S. as My Monster Secret. The following year she issued her 8th album, Life is Beautiful.

2016 saw MINMI appointed as an ambassador to the Japanese Ministry of the Environment and she commemorated it by composing a theme song that was featured in a widely seen promo campaign across Japan.

MINMI released her 9th studio album. Identity, in 2018, and supported its release with several tour dates including one at the world heritage site of Kasuga Taisha shrine located in Nara, Japan as well as shows at Billboard venues in Tokyo and Osaka. She also released the single, “Winner,” the same year, which was used as the official anthem for fans of the Yokohama Mariners soccer team.

MINMI continues to devote herself totally to the Soca beat and culture has toured extensively at numerous international reggae and rock festivals around the world.

MINMI’s production talents and skills as an arranger have also led her to producing a wide range of tracks and singles for Jamaican artists as well as releasing her own music in Jamaica, where she enjoys an ardent fan following. Her single, “Summer Time!!,” originally released in 2006, widely influenced the reggae scene in Trinidad Tobago and MINMI became the first female artist to be invited perform at the country’s annual Music Festival. She was also the first Asian artist to be nominated as a Breakthrough Artist at the 2006 Soca Awards. Her singles collection, MINIM BEST 2002-2008 reached the #1 spot on Japan’s Oricon music charts.
