A long-dormant casino in the heart of Los Santos is finally opening its doors.
The Diamond Casino and Resort, which has been perennially “under construction” in the world of GTA Online until now, will finally be opening for business with the release of Grand Theft Auto Online’s newest update. Check out the trailer below.
The casino will host a bevy of card games and activities including poker, blackjack, and roulette. Slot machines are also available, as are virtual horse races that players can bet on. The lucky wheel located in the casino’s lobby can be spun to win an assortment of prizes ranging from chips to cash to clothing, and even the new Truffade Thrax supercar that will be made available in the new update. Those who want the car will need to act fast though because a new high-end vehicle will be available each week. Outside of gambling, players looking to up their style will be able to purchase new clothing and accessories from the casino store.
The Diamond is not simply a casino, but also a resort. Sitting atop the casino is a master penthouse which players can purchase as a brand-new residence. The penthouse grants owners VIP membership status, allowing access to VIP lounges, high-limit tables, and services like aircraft and limo services. The penthouse is upgradeable with a wide array of rooms like a private spa, bar, and media room.
Ownership of a penthouse not only grants these exclusive benefits, but also drags players into a new story thread involving assisting the Diamond family fend off the advances of a family of petrochemical magnates. Completion of these new cooperative missions will rewards players with a brand-new vehicle. Odd jobs and errands are available from the Diamond’s head of operations, Agatha Baker, and these missions will reward players with extra cash and chips.
