Gears Of War 5’s Arcade Mode Looks Hella Fun

During the Xbox E3 2019 briefing, The Coalition announced that Gears of War 5 would be getting several new modes. One of which is an arcade mode, but they didn’t tell us anything about it. That all changes today a new video showcasing the arcade mode was released and it looks like fun.

Think of horde mode, now pit two teams against the massive hordes and place a “first to x kills wins”. That’s exactly what the arcade mode is all about. Two teams will fight it out to get 50 kills before the other team does. That’s it and as I said, that seems a lot more fun than playing competitively and dying within the first couple of seconds.

That’s not all, as each character will have their own specific set of skills. Yes, that does sound like a hero shooter, similar to Overwatch. Only time will tell if it works out or not. More information regarding the arcade mode will be released at a later time.

Speaking on time, make sure you don’t miss out one the Gears of War 5 tech tests that take place this month. The first one will run from July 19th, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and running until July 22nd. With the second from July 26th, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET to July 29th. You’ll be able to pre-load the technical test on July 17th, 2019. The file size will be 15GB for both tests. Gears of War 5 releases on September 10, 2019, for Xbox One and Windows 10.
