The Coalition To Host Two Gears Of War 5 Tech Tests This Month

Don’t miss your chance to get some early Gears of War 5 hands-on

The Coalition will host two multiplayer technical tests for the upcoming Gears of War 5 on both the Xbox One and Windows 10. The first one will run from July 19th, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and running until July 22nd. With the second from July 26th, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET to July 29th. You’ll be able to pre-load the technical test on July 17th, 2019. The file size will be 15GB for both tests.

During these tests, gamers will have access to several of the modes found in Gears of War 5.  This will be made available to Xbox Game Pass members and for those who have already pre-ordered Gears of War 5. Game modes such as Arcade, King of the Hill, and Escalation will all be playable. As well as a tutorial mode called Boot Camp that will school newcomers and veterans on the gameplay mechanics.

According to the information provided, there will also be a “Tour of Duty”, which are various challenges that allow players to earn in-game content. Doing so will unlock a technical test banner. In addition, by some additional challenges, players can also unlock several technical test weapon skins.

For those looking to partake in the technical test on PC, you can refer to the chart below to see if your PC is up to the task. Glancing over the minimum and recommended specs, the asking requirements are quite tame. I wonder if these will change prior to Gears of War 5 officially being released.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get my hands on Gears of War 5. Specifically on the PC, just to see the progression of The Coalition’s PC ports. While Gears of War: Ultimate has some issues, they did eventually fix them. While Gears of War 4 ran almost perfectly on the PC. I can only imagine the performance we’ll see in GOW 5.
