It was announced by Square Enix that their popular Dragon Quest franchise will be receiving a mobile game later this year called Dragon Quest Walk. The game will be available for iOS and Android and will utilize Google Maps. Colopi is co-developing the game and were best known for Rune Story.

Using a form of augmented reality, Dragon Quest Walk looks to be in the same style as Pokemon GO where you can walk around and find Dragon Quest-themed enemies and characters throughout the world. There is no word on whether or not the game will make its way to the West as of yet. That would all depend on its popularity in Japan plus the demand by gamers here.
