Xbox’s Phil Spencer Confirms 14 First-Party Games Will Be Shown During Microsoft’s E3 2019 Briefing

By Keith MitchellMay 31, 2019
Xbox E3 2019 Conference-01

Microsoft has been a roll as of the past few days. They already announced that multiple Xbox Studio games will make their way to Steam and they’ve confirmed Xbox Game Pass for PC. Now, Phil Spencer has added more fuel to the fire by confirming that 14 first-party games will be shown during Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing.

Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we've ever had in the show. Fun times. #XboxE3

The amount of first-party games is a first for Microsoft if I recall correctly. Of course, many of these games will be from the acquired Microsoft Studios, but I doubt that’s all. I’m sure Microsoft has been making some moves in the background and have something lined up that’s going to blow our minds.

Here’s to hoping these are going to be new IPs that we haven’t heard of, out of the Gears of War 5, Forza and Halo. Seems that Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing isn’t going to be as boring as many were speculating it will be. Also keep in mind that outside of games, they’ll still be showing off Project xCloud and possibly the next generation of Xbox console.

Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference will begin at 1:00 pm PDT on Sunday, June 9 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. It will be streaming live on the official Xbox Mixer channel, as well as on Twitch and YouTube.
