Crunchyroll Games announces Grand Summoners & Goblin Slayer

By Josh PiedraMay 31, 2019

Crunchyroll has announced that they will be co-publishing Grand Summoners, a Japanese RPG game, in partnership with Good Smile Company and NextNinja. Grand Summoners is a real-time RPG with rich gameplay, strategic co-op battles, and epic anime storylines.

To kickstart the partnership, Grand Summoners will be launching an epic crossover event featuring fan favorite characters from “Goblin Slayer” beginning June 6 through July 31. This event will feature three exclusive playable characters from the series with crossover-themed equipment to use during in-game battles and boss raids.

This in-game crossover marks the first-ever appearance of characters from “Goblin Slayer” within a mobile game. Playable characters include Goblin Slayer, High Elf Archer, and Priestess.

“Through Crunchyroll Games, we provide our community with an impactful way to connect to each other and the content they love,” said Brady McCollum, head of global operations and international, Crunchyroll. “We’re proud to welcome ‘Grand Summoners’ into the Crunchyroll Games family and we can’t wait for ‘Goblin Slayer’ fans to see what NextNinja, Good Smile Company and our team has in store for them with this latest collaboration.”

“Crunchyroll has been an essential partner of Good Smile Company and NextNinja in creating a worldwide audience for “Grand Summoners” since early 2018, said Masayuki Yamagishi, producer of “Grand Summoners.”

Grand Summoners was originally released for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices on November 30, 2016 in Japan. It was directed by Hisatoshi Hayakashi from AIDIS Inc., the former director of “Brave Frontier” and a leading role in “Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.” The music was composed by Noriyasu Agematsu of Elements Garden, accompanied by Tetsuya Kakihara, Saori Goto and Satoshi Hino on vocals for a majestic soundscape that brings the game’s world to life. The global version of Grand Summoners was released February 8, 2018 and is supported by a diverse community worldwide.

The popularity of Goblin Slayer has been paramount for Crunchyroll as it was one of their top simulcast titles in the Fall of 2018. Crunchyroll has previously released games based on anime franchises such as DanMachi: MEMORIA FREESE and Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost. Crunchyroll is also the marketing partner for the upcoming Attack on Titan: TACTICS game which is due out before the end of the year.

You can download Grand Summoners on iOS and Android right now!
