Scuf Announces The Prestige An Alternative To The Xbox Elite Controller

Last year, Scuf released the Vantage customizable controller for the PlayStation 4. It was the closest thing the platform in terms of a high-end controller. It was a very sexy controller if I say so myself. Now it looks like Scuf is set to release its own Xbox One controller, called the Prestige.

With the Prestige, they’re taking the fight to Microsoft’s Xbox One Elite controller.  A built-in battery that will last up to 30 hours (no more AA or rechargeable battery kits). They also claim that the prestige weighs less than the elite or pretty much all Xbox One controllers, making it the lightest controller for the system.

The controller also includes the ability to swap faceplates and the thumbsticks. With rubberized grips on the back of the controller. Since it uses Bluetooth, so you won’t have to worry about using a dongle. Lastly, Scuf also states that the Prestige will function with the PC and also Android, in case you don’t own an Xbox One.

It sounds impressive, that’s for sure.

Offering unprecedented comfort and customization, the Prestige incorporates all the innovative features you would expect from a SCUF controller, along with an embedded lithium-ion battery, interchangeable faceplate, and integrated high-performance grip. The SCUF Prestige builds on the patented technologies introduced by Scuf Gaming: replaceable ergonomic back paddles, adjustable hair triggers, magnetic remapping of controls, quick shift trigger stops, and interchangeable thumbsticks that allow gamers to match gameplay to their personal style.

The Scuf Prestige is currently available for pre-order on Scuf’s website. It’s priced at $160, which is $10 more than the Xbox One, which could be a tough sell for many. However, the longer lasting battery and the faceplate abilities might just be enough to nudge people over to the Prestige. As for us, we’ll let you know what we think of it once we pick up our own.
