Activision Is Very Happy With Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Q1 Performance

While we already knew that Activision was pretty happy with how Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been received. The not only reviewed well, but it went on to sell over two million copies in just 10 days. Now we’re learning that the title has performed better than expected. I mean, how could it not with Fromsoftware helming the game?

According to Twinfinite, Activision held their first quarter calendar 2019 conference call and Sekiro was among the companies higher performers. You can listen to that call by going here.

Q1 also saw the highly successful release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the result of Activision’s approach to selectively partnering with high-quality developers to leverage our publishing and marketing scale and expertise.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the collaboration, execution, and response to FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed title from gaming communities worldwide.

I couldn’t be happier for Fromsoftware on this achievement. Especially many felt that the company was taking a huge chance by partnering up with Activision. Not only has the game gone on to become a favorite among the gaming community. It’s also spawned tons of fan art, it’s own upcoming manga, as well as having a huge catalog of mods created by the community.

With the success of the game, hopefully, this means we’ll see some sort of DLC later this year. I mean, we technically should as one of the games endings does leave room for either an expansion or even a full-fledged sequel. But for now, Fromsoftware has been quiet, but I don’t expect them to stay that way for long.

Until then, check out Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.
