World War Z Sells Over 1 Million Copies In Just One Week

Looks like killing zombies never gets old. According to both Focus Home Interactive and Saber Interactive, their recent survival horror title, World War Z, has gone on to sell over 1 million copies in the first week.

Which also impressive, due to the game being exclusive to the Epic Games Store. There’s still a lot of people out there who refuse to buy any games on Epic Games storefront for various reasons.

We are humbled and thrilled by the immense success so far of World War Z, especially on PC thanks to the tremendous support of the Epic Games Store,” said Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch in a press release. “Moving forward, we’ll continue to expand the game and its community with new improvements, stability updates, and bonus gameplay content, beginning very soon with a special new mission for the Tokyo episode.

The news is super positive for the publisher and developer combo. Especially since the title really didn’t have much in terms of advertising and many had speculated that World War Z would fall flat on its face. Thankfully it didn’t and the sale speak for themselves.

Sure the game is a bit rough but no one can deny that the game is fun. Especially when you got hordes of zombies beating down of you and it’s just you and your partners to help you mow them down. It definitely gets intense, that’s for sure. It’s like what I wanted from Left 4 Dead 3 if we ever got it. But I’ll take World War Z, as it feeds my craving for brains zombie spanking action.

That’s not all, a Saber Interactive has lots more planned. They’ve even teased a roadmap that will be revealed shortly. Hopefully, private lobbies are among the things that we’ll be announced on said roadmap.

Overwhelmingly great reactions to @wwzthegame so far! Brilliant atmosphere here in the office, we're loving your streams, videos and game discussions. Already seen some crazy gameplay, especially from the crazy people attempting insanity difficulty.

Expect a roadmap soon! pic.twitter.com/BmUg92XaJQ
