Will Smith Is Having Trouble With Himself In ‘Gemini Man’

By Keith MitchellApril 23, 2019

Do you know that old saying? The one that says no one knows you better than yourself? Well, that’s exactly the premise of the upcoming action/thriller title, ‘Gemini Man’. Sorry folks, this isn’t the Mega Man adaption you thought this was going to be.

Will Smith plays an aging hitman who just wants to leave the scene. Except there’s just one problem, there’s another hitman after him. One that knows his every move, one that always seems to be able to one-up him. At the same time, the other hitman keeps having issues trying to take down Will Smith’s character. It’s pretty much uncanny. How can each of these guys know what’s going on in the other guy’s head? Turns out that the other hitman just happens to be a younger version of Will Smith’s character. Yep, release the clones, or clone in this instance.

Sure, clones are a bit clique but I still enjoy a good sci-fi, action-filled movie with a few twists and this looks to fit the bill. Of course, Will is a bit up there so they de-aged his character. C’mon, I watched a lot of  ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-air’ and that doesn’t look like the Will I remember from them. Still, It worked pretty well for Samuel Jackson, and it looks impressive in the trailer for the flick. Well, all except for the very beginning.

Check out the trailer below.

Gemini Man stars Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Benedict Wong, and Clive Owen, with Ang Lee (‘Life of PI’) directing. The visual effects provided by Peter Jackson’s Weta Digital. (‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Alita: Battle Angel’). The film releases on October 11, 2019.
