Several New Images For The Surge 2 Have Emerged

We still don’t have a release date but these are pretty cool

A few days ago, Focus Home Interactive hosted a conference, where they not only announced several new partnerships. But they also had a playable build of the upcoming The Surge 2. Sadly, they haven’t shared any footage of this build and only the journalists who were invited to the event had access to it.

As hard as I’ve searched, not a single one of those people have posted any impressions from the gameplay. Which makes me a bit sad as I was a huge fan of the first game and it’s been a while since Deck 13 or Focus had talked about The Surge 2.

However, the official twitter account for was nice enough to drop 4 new images from the press day event. You can check those out below.

It’s not action gameplay or in-game shots, but these do give us some idea of what we can expect. Multiple new armor sets and new weapons, just look at the second image. That armor set looks wicked, does it not? Also as mentioned before, character customization and even the ability to select a female character as well.

Sadly, we didn’t get any other info from the event, including a release date that I was really hoping we’d get. The Surge 2 is still scheduled to be released this year. However, based on this it likely won’t be released until much later and likely after Summer 2019. At least we have these screenshots to keep up company.

The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original – hardcore combat utilizing a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and deep character progression – while also improving the formula. The Surge 2 takes place in a brand new environment: a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design, made possible by Deck13’s upgraded and improved FLEDGE engine. Combat is more brutal and tactical than ever, with more advanced dodging, directional parrying, and unique AI behaviors. In addition, more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones give players a vast arsenal to build their character with, in their fight against the array of diverse new enemies and bosses.
