Yakuza Kiwami 2 Is Coming To Steam Next Month

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Can’t keep a good Kiryu down

After the sales of both Yakuza Zero and Yakuza Kiwami on the PC, you’d have to be a fool to think Sega wouldn’t bring over more of the series. Which is exactly what they’re going with the announcement of Yakuza Kiwami 2 coming to Steam. The title will be available on May 9, 2019, and is priced at $29.99. Though if you search for it, you can find it cheaper.

Sure, I’m surprised but not really. Between the survey that put out a while back asking if we wanted more Yakuza on PC. And the more recent teasing on Steam, I figured it was only a matter of time.

The remake of Yakuza 2, Yakuza Kiwami 2 follows our main man Kazuma Kiryu gets pulled back into the fray. When the fifth Chairman, Yukio Terada, is murdered by assassins from a rival organization, the Omi Alliance. Returning to Kamurocho. Kiryu is on a mission to find a new chairman for the Tojo Clan and prevent an all-out war between the Tojo and the Omi, bringing him into conflict with Ryuji Goda, the legendary “Dragon Of Kansai” of the Omi Alliance.

Where else can you play a game where you can kick a damned tiger?

Just like the first game, this version will support 4K, an unlocked framerate, lots of graphical options and even customizable controls. Oh, and it doesn’t look like it will be sporting Denuvo either. While not mentioned, we should also expect to see ultrawide monitor support as well. Especially since it was patched into Yakuza Zero and was included day one in Yakuza Kiwami.

Hopefully, this means that we’ll be seeing Yakuza 6 on the PC before the year is over.

It also means that if you haven’t beaten either Yakuza Zero or Yakuza Kiwami, that you better get a move on it. Chop chop, Kiryu waits for no one. Oh, and be sure to check out our Yakuza Kiwami PS4 review if you haven’t already.

Now Sega, can we finally get Phantasy Star Online 2 over in the West? Just asking for a friend.
