Ubisoft’s Watch Dog PC system specs released and they are a doozy

Now that all know that Watch Dogs is finally being released on May 27th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 Xbox One and PC, we also know now the PC system specs for both the minimum and recommended settings.

A couple of things stand out and I’m wondering if this is just a mistake on Ubisoft’s end of what. For example it states a Eight core Intel i7 or AMD FX X8. That’s fine and dandy however the i7 from Intel isn’t a a Eight core processor. It’s a Quad core processor with hyper-threading which gives you 4 physical cores and 4 logical cores. Intel’s only true Eight core processor would be the Xeon and those are typically reserved for servers. I’m sure that’s a mistake in there but still, 8 cores needed for this game. That’s a lot of CPU power required here and I’m wondering if the majority of cause PC gamers are going to be able to run this game at the recommended level.

But don’t take my word for it, check out the specs below.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1) or Windows 8 (Please note that we only support 64 bit OSs.)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: DirectX 11 graphics card with 1 GB Video RAM – Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770
  • DirectX: Version 11
